(There’s two ways to look at it- either the people who are scared of them are over-sensitive, or the people who aren’t are just immune to it. If you look at the Inoculation theory, which states that people who are frequently exposed to extreme violence or sexual content over a long period of time become desensitized, it could be in play here. As hot/funny/awesome as Diamanda and ATG are (and they are) when you get down to it, they are violent and depraved psychopaths (in character- I know they’re nice IRL) and it would be natural to fear them.
